My role as a Design Producer combined project management, designing, and hands-on production to bring brand experiences and in-app features to life.

I contributed to three main projects: designing a large-scale experiential marketing event, producing a new in-app animation, and helping launch a new feature with supporting ads and UX updates.

Project 1:  Experiential Event & Branding

  • Designed and produced Duolingo’s experiential marketing space for a flagship event with 8,000+ attendees.
  • Collaborated with engineers, designers, and producers to shape the brand environment, create merch, and oversee setup.
  • Partnered with a SWE to code the Streak Board, a prominent interactive feature that drove attendee engagement.

    Project 2: UX & Feature Launch (Video Call with Lily + DET)

    • Contributed to the launch of “Video Call with Lily”, a new feature, by coordinating sound design, animation, and ad rollout.
    • Assisted in updating the UI for the Duolingo English Test, ensuring the design refresh aligned with brand identity and user experience goals.

    Project 3: Animation Production

    • Project managed a 10-week cross-functional animation initiative, aligning designers, illustrators, and engineers.
    • Oversaw production schedules and resource allocation, resulting in a new animation implemented directly into the app.

    Key Outcomes

    • Strengthened skills in experiential design by co-creating a large-scale branded environment and interactive installation.
    • Gained hands-on experience in UX design and product launches, contributing to both app features and external campaigns.
    • Developed strong project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities, guiding creative projects from concept to execution.
    • Learned to adapt quickly as a “floater,” working across teams and disciplines to support Duolingo’s fast-moving creative studio.
